Raisin Jam Recipe – Cooling, for the Heart

Raisin Jam for the Summer!

With the sweltering heat of modern summers, our system run dry and depleted. Raisins are a perfect medicine to balance the summer heat. According to Ayurveda, sweet smell of raisins is nourishing and cooling to the body. The effect can be attributed to antioxidant and anti-inflammatory goodness of raisins. Raisins are also anti-toxic as they have rejuvinating effect on the liver and the heart. Astrigent and sweet taste of raisins balances the inflammation and improves the tone of the heart muscle. This jam is an Ayurvedic recommendation for the summer.

Raisin Jam Recipe:
  • Take 3 cups of golden raisins in a pressure cooker.
  • Add 2 cups of water
  • ¼ cup of each powdered herb:
  • Bala, Shatavari, Dasamula
  • Let cook in pressure cooker for 7mins
  • 20mins on stove top, boil covered, on medium heat
  • Add to a blender, add 1 cup of apple cider vinegar.
  • Blend until you have uniform jam.

Taking Raisin Jam daily: 1tsp of jam, 2-3 times per day.
