This common dish is a lovely, healthy side dish or snack. Garbanzo beans and sesame seeds provide many complex carbs and proteins that support structural components of joint tissues. Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked garbanzo beans
- 2 tablespoons tahini (sesame paste)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
- 4 tablespoons water
Instructions
COOKING GARBANZO BEANS: Soak garbanzo beans in water overnight. Boil soaked garbanzo beans for 1 hour on medium heat to cook fully.
MAKING HUMMUS: Puree all ingredients in a food processor or blender, slowly adding water as needed, until hummus is thick and creamy. Sprinkle a dash of cayenne and a pinch of cumin seeds. Serve with sliced cucumber for a cooling effect that controls inflammation.
